In India,
the basic education i.e. schooling till 10th standard is available
free of cost. We can say that it is democratically available for all children.
But what about
the way it is available?
Doctors
will all vote to say that children need atleast 9-10 hours of sleep. Do our
children get it?
In most
homes, they get up earlier than their fathers and are the first ones to leave
the home.
I remember
reading an article in the newspaper a few years back. In that it was mentioned
that to avoid traffic jam during peak hours, the school buses have been asked
to ply earlier!!!
What about
the way they sit in the school. Doctors and physiotherapist will together agree
that the posture in which the children sit is not good for their health. And also the amount of time they are in the
sitting posture is not good for their physical growth.
But still
we adults have not thought about it and done anything about it. The poor
children have no voice to say what they want.
Let’s do
something about it. Small tremors make a mighty earth shaking quake.
So what can we do Nalini, we have to change the system , A policy must prevail .
