Confusions as a new mother

The moment that I knew that I am going to be a new mother, there was an inner joy and along with that a BIG nagging worry – How am I going to raise this child in this contradicted world!

The world which when we are kids tells us that we must share, help each other and be a good girl or a good boy…  That same world, once we grow up tell us – “You fool be competitive. Don’t be sentimental”

When I was in school, I was told that while I am conversing, I must always say name last – e.g. “My mother, sister and me will be doing the cooking today”.

When I grew up and followed the above protocol, I was told “Why are you escaping from your responsibility and dumping everything on us?”

My inner me cries with confusion…

I remember telling my husband – “This world is very confusing. Let’s not bring two more lives into this confusion. Let’s adopt two and bring them up…”

But now that I have brought two children to this world…wish to do my bit in reducing this confusion and move to  world of joy.
